Jeff Shucard was born in Paterson, N.J. and now resides in Portugal with his wife Francoise and his faithful Gibson J 50. Over the past 40 years he has recorded six or seven albums of music he describes as post - modern retro - fusion African American hokum jazz and blues as leader of the band Sweet Papa Lowdown. As such he has performed at many music festivals from Vancouver to Istanbul and lectured on the subject of blues history. He is also the author of several handfuls of articles and several novels.

His first published novel, Big Horn, is currently available through Amazon Books.
